Route finding expertise is necessary to successfully complete this hike.
From the end of North Potato Creek Road, follow a steep, hard to follow route up an initially exposed, then brushy ridgeline walk. The summit of Baldy is typically very windy, and the weather can sometimes obscure views from the summit.
If it is clear, one can see Lake Chelan and the silver snags of dead trees gilding the slopes of the surrounding hills. Be aware here of the danger of falling trees due to the high winds.
