This seasonal snowshoe route to the shore of Baker Lake is dependent on the snow accumulation at the time of your trip. With the right amount of snow this becomes a 2-mile walk along a snowy road to the lake.
Given the right conditions this route starts from the intersection of Baker Lake Road and Forest Road 1118. If the road is not snow-covered this does not make a good hiking option since car traffic may still be using the road.
Walk down Forest Road 1118 for 2 miles to Horseshoe Cove Campground and the shore of Baker Lake before turning around. Note: Horseshoe Cove Campground is closed during the winter, so don’t expect any facilities here.
