Hiking Badlands Trail

The Badlands Trail begins 3 miles up Hatchery Creek and connects to Painter Creek 5 miles away. From the junction with the Hatchery Creek Trail, the trail climbs to 6200 feet, then switchbacks down from the ridge to a signed junction with the Painter Creek Trail at 5200 feet. However, a major fire came through here in recent years, rendering this trail nearly impossible to navigate without a GPS device or navigation skills.
