Become a WTA Ambassador -- Support the Hiking Community

If you want to be a champion for trails and public lands, apply to be a volunteer WTA Ambassador.

We invite you to become part of our ambassador team and help our community grow. Ambassadors are outreach volunteers, and serve as the face of WTA in their communities across the state. WTA is a catalyst to help people connect to the joys of hiking, enhance trails through stewardship, and speak up for trails and public lands. We envision Washington having trails for everyone, forever. You can be part of this by becoming an ambassador.

Wherever you live in Washington, you can support trails and the people who love them

At WTA, we are committed to fostering an inclusive hiking community, where people of all identities are represented and feel welcome. As an ambassador, you can help us with that goal in many ways. You might represent WTA at a community event and talk with the public about how to get involved, give a presentation to a local group, or help WTA stay on top of issues that hikers care about in your area. 

What you do is determined by what WTA needs, and by the interests and skills you have or want to develop. No prior experience is necessary and there is no predetermined time commitment. WTA provides the training and tools. 

This might be the volunteer role for you if you…

    • Like talking about Washington Trails Association and hiking.
    • Want to share your passion for and experience exploring Washington's outdoors.
    • Are interested in a new way to give back to trails.
    • Want to learn and build relationships.

This is a flexible role — as an ambassador we'll tell you about opportunities and you will have the option to choose what works for you.
