Register for our virtual Hiker Rally 2021

Join WTA and outdoor enthusiasts from across the state as we come together virtually on March 10 & 11 to urge our legislators to protect funding for recreation and trail maintenance on state lands.

Join us to rally for trails!

Each year, Washington Trails Association is in Olympia working with lawmakers to advance the interests of hikers. But we can’t do it alone. Elected officials need to know that their constituents — you — care about preserving public lands, accessing trails and funding for trail maintenance.

We hope you'll join us for part of the day on March 10 and 11! We'll provide everything you need to be an effective advocate, whether you are a first-time or long-time participant. This year, our Hiker Rally will be held online. The day will include an online lobbying training, an issue briefing on recreation funding in Washington state, remote meetings with state representatives and the opportunity to network with other hikers.

Here's a look snapshot of what the day(s) will look like:

In the past, Rally Day was a single full day of trainings, meetings and social time with fellow hikers. But to accommodate folks’ busy schedules, we’ve decided to split the long single-day event into two days with less time commitment. We’ll hold a kick-off training session for everyone on Wed., March 10 and wrap up with a virtual happy hour on Thur., March 11. Hikers will then have 15-minute meetings with their three legislators on either March 10 or March 11.

Have more questions about to expect? We hopefully have answers! Check our FAQ page for all the details!

We appreciate you signing up as soon as possible. Lawmakers must confirm they will have constituents (i.e. hikers like you!) at meetings before they will set them up with us.

P.S. Please provide your -home address- so that we can set up virtual meetings with the legislators from the district in which you live.
