Take Action for Washington Trails Day
Hiking is good for our hearts, minds and local economies. Ninety percent of Washingtonians — people like you — recreate on trails each year. Outdoor recreation generates 201,000 direct jobs and $21.6 billion consumer spending in our state.*
Unfortunately our state and federal land management agencies are chronically underfunded and face recreation and maintenance backlogs in excess of $900 million. And as the state’s population continues to grow, so does the need for continued investment in our public lands.
Washington’s senators, Maria Cantwell and Patty Murray, have long been champions for public lands. For years, they have worked to protect our state's treasured wild places and support outdoor recreation. We thank them for their extraordinary efforts.
Join us on this Washington Trails Day in showing your love for our trails and public lands. Funding our state’s trails is crucial for the people of Washington and its economy. Let our senators know today how important it is to invest in the future by investing in trails.
